Default Fans causing PC speed to increase?

Well, one of my fans burned out, so i decided to go get some nice new Blue LED fans, i stick them in, boot up, and i notice a large speed inc. while playing WoW ect ect, i didn't lag b4, but it seems smoother now.

Well, something else had to have changed for there to just miraculously be a speed boost. Perhaps your fan was simply dying well early on and due to higher temperatures the CPU wasn't performing up to par. Some mobo's have features for the CPU to downclock if temps rise too high.

That'd be the only thing I could think of, other than that I don't know, but fans don't just increase speed.
