Fan Noise

[Guidance]

I have an AMD 2600 with a ECS 741 GX-M Rev.1 Mother Board. The fan runs at about 5000 RPM constantlyand has since I bought it. I tried a different fan but the speed doesn't change.

My question is this -- perhaps the mother board is bad or this mother board doen't allow for changing fan speeds - no temp sensor ?

Does anyone have any idead about this?

Fan Mate2

I just hooked up a Zalman Fan Mate 2 and this works great. I guess it's better than trying to mess with a mother board etc.
