I want to get some 120X120X38mm fans, and a fan controller for my ears. But these fans require a high(er) amount of amps, and it isn't really made clear for which ones can handle higher amps. Or doens't it matter? Any recomendations?

With the fan controller that came with my power supply, there was a little sheet of paper that had maximum amperage on it. It was something like 1.25 amps I believe. On your case fans, there should be a sticker with the amps on it (My 80mm fans are .25 amps, and my 120mm fan is .35 amps). Just add up the amount of amps of your fans, and if that is less than the maximum amps allowed by your fan controller, you should be fine.

I hope that made sense... :)

I hit some sanity, and will get good fans, that I know I can live with ~30db.

It changes for each fan controller, and many sites don't state how many amps it could take, and tornado's need ~1amp.
