Go with a 939, not the 754. It's a few more bucks on the front end, but it is worth it.

754 has no dual channel support, and is slated to go to Sempron.

Look at it this way... You can always upgrade in the future.

It is better to skimp on the graphics card and memory right now. Buy the best mobo you can, as it is the main foundation you are building on. CPU, GPU, memory can be swapped out and upgraded easily.

Hard drive's are the same, but make sure that your main one, the one you start with, is a good one, and has enough capacity for your main stuff. You can add a data drive later.

Definitely go with a socket 939, and if I were you, I'd look into get a 9xxx series ATI card instead.....the FX series was pretty much a flop...also for future reference chaintech SUCKS dude...I had to RMA my 5700 within 2 months and now about 7-8 months later this RMA'd card is already dead

939 3000+
512mb Ram (upgrade later)
80gb HDD (upgrade later)
If you can afford $100 for a GPU, go with the POWERCOLOR R98E-SC3 Radeon 9800SE 128MB 128-bit DDR AGP 4X/8X Video Card - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814131292
Its good performance for money.
