Default E6300 Vs Q6600

how would an OC'd E6300 @ 2.8GHz compare to a stock Q6600?
in terms of video encoding?

is it fair to assume OC'd E6300 acheives performance close to a stock E6750?

recently got into movie burning and transcoding, encoding and wtfcoding between formats takes a long time for high quality!

I was content with the performance of my E6300 for gaming but now looking into maybe shave some time off of encoding videos.....

think an OC'd Q6600 would make BIG difference?
big like 5 min+

Yes...especially if you can get a g0 quad overclocked to 3.4-3.6....it will fly in encoding

does the first yes refer to this question?
is it fair to assume OC'd E6300 acheives performance close to a stock E6750?

A quad core can decode at almost double the speed of a dual core clocked at the same speed. That and rendering are where the quads really shine.
