NEC is a top manufacture for Disc drives. The simple fact that you are buying this brand is a plus. Newt

I ordered this EXACT model. I really like it. I dont have any coasters yet and ive made about 15 dvds. Just look at the reviews also, theres only 1 that isnt a 4 or a 5 star. I think i got my moneys worth, plus it matches with the case i should be getting ina few days.

Plextor is top Brand
next is LG/Lite-on

Compared to how prices use to be for DVD-Burners, nows a good time to buy!
I recommend LG or Lite-on
Plextor is the top brand but its expensive xD
