if it were me i would get this card instead, it will do you good in doom and in source. if you ever fell the need for speed you can oc pretty good since i here evga has the best stock colling.:freak:

Normally I'd agree 20mm, but you can get the X800XL for like $289, so the price/performance is better than that of the 6800GT. Don't know how far the X800XL will OC though, but if he doesn't plan on OC'ing I guess that wont matter

No, it'll be more expensive probably, but not THAT expensive dude. It's basically the same as the winchester but with better capabilities for higher frequencies and new added SSE3 instructions.

Yeah that X800Xl is about $80 cheaper....if you want even cheaper but still can perform then go with a 6600GT at $184

That card can still handle it's own. Current games today complete maxed out graphics no probs.

alright i re-read the post and im starting to understand all this technical talk

x800xl=radeon
6600gt=barely performable, about to be out-dated
and the other one is super incredibly good but no way possible on my budget unless i cut down on some other stuff.
