does faster water=less algae?

I was messing around last night, i have the small algae deposits in my res.. I have my pump speed set super slow. My pump is the dangerden D5. When i increased the speed, the deposit disappeared. I know i know,, it is still in the system, but that means that the water is moving fast enough so that the algae wont have a chance to form in that spot right? Or will it still form

stagnet water is more likely to promote algae growth.
