Default Does anyone know why...

I can't get my rig to overclock past 235MHz bus speed?

My only guess is P4, ECS motherboard, and the cooling you're using?

What are your BIOS settings?

Newegg.com - ZALMAN CNPS7700-CU 120mm 2 Ball Cooling Fan - Retail

I think it's the mobo's fault.
BIOS settings are all normal except I changed the clocking.

Yea, I wouldn't expect anymore from an ECS.

Surely you have been saving for awhile now??
A new and fairly "good" rig is possible with a budget of about 1200 USD, +/- a few hundred of course...

No point, the rig suffices and I don't want to waste money.

No point? I can think of one really good one... If you buy a new setup you can stop complaining.

Where's the fun in that?
Anyways, I'd be buying a laptop in about a year for college.

You should build a laptop. That's what I'm going to do when I go to college next year. Build a good desktop, and build a laptop just to take notes on.
