Default Cpu Selection

i currently have a 1.7 P4 and its slow for encoding. i encode avi/mpeg to mpeg 4 for my psp and need to choose a new cpu mobo combo. i newegged and so far chose the P4 530J and MSI Mobo with 1gb corsair value ram ddr2. its around $450. so should i pick this for encoding or go the Amd route. I know they are a little cheaper but heard intels are better for encoding. just looking for some input thanks

The Intel 530J supports Intel's Execute Disable Bit feature, which can prevent certain types of virus attacks, mostly Buffer overflow attacks.
