Cpu Fan Speed

And wouldnt having the fan permenantly at a set speed like, 3k rpm, improve the life of the fan rather than constantly ajusting speed to temperature?

i think that depends. some people would argue having it constantly at its limits kills it faster, but i think messing with the voltages and such constanlty and having it speed up and slow down will do damage to it alot quicker. i've had mine for over a year at full blast and its still pushing 3600RPM's (rated at 3500 i believe).
