I was just wondering, I have a AMD Athlon XP +2200 (not overclocked) running with a temperature of about 50 C (with the standard heatsink and fan it came with). I wanted to know if that temp for the CPU was to high and would damage it over time.

If so, do any of you know of a good fan/heatsink that would bring my temperature down. One company I've been looking at is CoolerMaster.

well, no, it wont damage your CPU, but it would be a good idea to get better than stock cooling, because most stock cooling sucks :(

i agree with raekwon, most stock coolers suck so try to get a cooler that doesnt die on you so quickly, cause i had a heatsink that cooled up an amd3000+ and it died on my with my 2400+. lol

speaking of which, i have an AMD Athlon XP 3000+ w/ Barton Core. at idle. the temp is 60-70 degrees Celcius. sumhow i get the feeling that my mobo is giving me false readings. is it?

use motherboard monitor, or use a therm, to read the temps right at the base.
