Confused

Ok i was just browsing overclockers.co.uk in the sale stuff and came across the exact same graphics card i have (Sapphire X700) and it says that GPU running at 400MHz, memory running at 500MHz but on my card my default settings are core - 400mhz and mem - 250mhz :s whats up with that? When i try and go that high my pc goes crazy.

the effective speed on your card is 500MHZ. DDR can transfer twice the data per clock cycle as SDRAM can.

Oh ok so theres nothing wrong with the card? Why doesnt it say its 500mhz in ati tool?

because it isn't 500mhz. it is 250mhz or DDR500

Ok then. In everest i just seen that is says effective clock 500Mhz so thats ok.
