Default computer upgrade.

Few Questions:

1. I want to upgrade from a P4 1.5GHz to a AMD 64 Venice 3200+ and just wondering how big the increase in performance will be?

2. Since i am upgrading, i will need a new motherboard, i want one that will suit my "Kingston 512 DDR 400" and that is flexable and wont need to be upgraded in the near future.

3. I know people suggest the 6600GT graphics card alot, i am using a "NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900XT", if i upgrade this also, what kind of increase in graphics will there be? and what type of 6600gt should i go for?

All of these do not have a price given, this is because id rather pay for quality and stay with it for ahile then buy something cheap which will have to be upgraded the next week.

Also, i live in australia, where should i buy my stock...?

thanks.

Go with AMD my friend, hands down better than Intel. for extreme gaming, get a gig of RAM, and a PCI express video card. It's a lot of money, but it will last you for years to come..

The only thing that sucks about the Nvidia is the fact that it takes up two slots, other then that it is a power house with good cooling.

The Nvidia doesnt take up two slots. You dont have to use SLI with Nvidia.
