Computer "newbie" looking to build first PC!

I've been into computers for a long, long time. I just recently decieded to actually get into the computer. I thought I knew I lot about computers untill I started to read techie forums. Now Im just lost in all the abreviations :amazed: . Im currently 15, and jobless , but I hope to learn enough about PCs to make my own when I get the money.

What I want to ask is this : How long did it take you to learn enough about PC's before you built your first?

It really depends on how much time you put into it. I recommend getting a book on computer hardware. This will teach you alot.
