for
the time being.....
Grand Total as of 04/01/04 is : $1138

first of all go with a radeon 9800 pro cause it only cost $200 and is like the second best video card out there(newegg.com) you morther board is good...i would just find someone who had a floppy drive and just paint the face of it to match your case...save a little money that way. Also go with the AMD athlon 2600 cause you will save money and get something better at the same time...its quite alot better in my opion then a p4 2.4...but hey...thats just my opion...good luck

haha i fink my pc is jus a lil betta and a bit cheaper!

masta_sushi what are you on? to start off with your case inc psu and fan is $18 how does that compare to the one listed above???

why have you included the cable modem cost?

hmmm....

anyway, I would get an MSI FX 5900 (I dont know any US prices) as thats the one I use an its great.
I would also get a couple of 512MB sticks of RAM as I have just found that games like Far Cry eat memory for breakfast.
Regarding the Intel vs AMD, if you can afford an Intel I would go that way (probably a Prescott 2.8) with a motherboard based on the 865 or 875 chipset.
