would have thought painting the heatsinks would degrade its performance. looks awesome though.

regarding the batman mod - he didn't cover the pci-e and memory slots and it still works!?
wouldn't the paint block the contact points or something?

Depends on what kind of paint. I mean, they come painted already. If it was a latex type of paint then it would soak the heat and keep it in. Those heatsinks don't get very hot as it is.

The slots are so tight that the paint gets taken off as soon as you slide the card in just enough to make contact.

Latex paint would bubble and peel off once it got too hot. But, the fact he got that lucky with spray painting the slots and not having a single pin become useless... I think he took an emery board and pushed between the slots and gently sanded the pins back to where they could contact again.
