When a Video Card starts to freeze up, Artifact because of OCing.. Is that because of heat or is the card simply being pushed past its physical limits?

**Update** On second thought, It would need more voltage wouldn't it? Just like a CPU.

chilled 8800gt = water cooled? ...

when a part freezes up lol its not called chilled is it?

confusing...

anyways yeah, volt mods = the way to go

most cards can get a bit more juice out of them stock with a volt mod even if your on stock cooling

8800 gt's have many guides available although the risk is still there

I'll look into it.. It's not like a couple months ago where I had no source of income, so I can finally be a little risky and replace a broken part.... Broken hardware is just an excuse to upgrade. Volt looks complicating though.

it will take a bit of time, a few hours probably for the inexperienced and it involves soldering very small circuits...

you won't see that great of a performance gain on stock cooling... so if your not too sure of what your doing, I'd say to forego it unless you are upgrading to a waterblock or aftermarket cooling
