Go into the bios and see if the clock frequencies are locked or not.
You can overclock it if the bios isnt holding you back.

Ya I'd say look for a non-BIOS based OCing utility, but since your CPU is quite old there are probably none.

well i dont see any in my bios, so im guessing it's locked.. how would i overclock now?

Some times on older motherboards there are jumpers on the motherboard that allow you to unlock the frequency settings or even overclock it with the jumpers.

If you still have the documentation, try looking through that, if not google your motherboard and see if there is an online manual or some information on it.

it should be BIOS controlled on a P3. i think some Intel boards have a jumper to unlock some BIOS options.

jumper= little plastic thing with metal inside used to short to pins together on electronics and complete a circuit like a switch. so basically they operate like switches and there are generally several of them on a motherboard and adjusting certain ones will enable disable settings. obviously don't do this by trial and error either look in your motherboard manual or try and find an online version of it.
