Can I change my processor WITHOUT changing my motherboard....just wondering

o...b/c right now i have a crappy little pentium 3 and for halflife 2 i KNOW FOR A FACT that that lil pentium 3 just wont cut it

yeah, umm, AMD 64 bit, 3500+, a nice mobo, Nvidia 6800 GT, 160 GB hard drive, Audigy 2 ZS sound card, 1 gig of dual channell RAM.

If you want me to put a little list of a nice new PC I can do that for ya, just say the word!

OOO POOPOO!!! im lookin at the manuel and the best processor this motherboard will support IS A pnetium 3 :-(

Um, dude.. P3's have completely different packaging/programming than a P4. No P3 motherboard can take a P4 chip.

so can u guys suggest a good motherboard and a good processor that wont take me forever to save up the money for????


P.S. I DO NO WANT A PENTIUM ANYTHING PROCESSOR....

You can build a good Intel/AMD system for an amount you won't have to save up for.. You can do one of both for under $800. What kind of specs are you looking for?

im new to all this i mean i been around computers for a while but im new to all the parts n stuff so i donno...i just need sumthin that i can play games on like jalflife 2 and unreal tourn 2004
