buying parts

should i worry about buying parts if they are "open box" instead of retail?

It really and truly depends, I've bought OEM parts that have worked great, and I've bought some retail parts that were absolute garbage. The most important thing to consider when buying OEM, or any part for that matter, is the warranty.

i thought open box items are returned items. OEM is cheaper than retail because they leave out the extras the some retail items come with. as for open box, i don't know.

Retail is brand new items. Just it usually comes alone.
