Not that i've seen... u dont need it though, my card absolutely rips up half life 2.. with everything Maxed including AA 6x

no i don't think they are planning on going past 128MB for the 6600GT...it would perform the same as a 6800 i imagine and be around the same price...so that would be kinda dumb. i've never had bigger than a 64MB card so i don;t mind lmao. everyone else is all "when do the 512MB card come out!!??!" and im still using an 8MB one for my secondary machine lmao.

I believe they are alreadty out as the 512MB PNY nVIDIA Quadro FX4400 512Mb PCI-E (Retail) has 512, but it also has a good way of burning a whole in your wallet :( ........£1,869.43

wonder what people use them for.

thats like a proffessional movie making rendering card

128mb 6600gt is better than any 256mb in that price range

ASUS A8N SLI / MSI NEO 4 DIAMOND / DFI NF4 ULTRA
3200+ 939
6600GT PCI EXPRESS - LEADTEK EXTREME
SEAGATE 200GB+ OR SOMETHING Hard Drive With NCQ (Faster)
PSU GOOD BRAND 12V+ = 20Amps+
ONBOARD SOUND - ITS GOOD ENOUGH
pqi TURBO Series Dual Channel Platinum 256MB x 2 3200 - Newegg
THERMALTAKE POLO 735 3-IN-1 CPU HEATSINK FAN
ANTEC SUPER LANBOY CASE

Total im not sure- Defently under $1000

I would recommend an abit 3rd eye, combined with some Kingston HyperX and a 3200+ Winchester core. Throw in some water cooling and you can overclock that bad boy up to a 3800+, possibly even higher.

Stick with the 6600GT, best bang for your buck, as well as onboard sound. Those PCI cards are not that much better than onboard, and their price just doesn't justify them.

Don't skimp out on the PSU or the case if you're going to be putting high end parts in, both are pretty important, especially if you are using a lot of power eating, heat dissipating parts.

Ok, this is what I have come up with:

Motherboard: -$134.95- Abit-AV8-3rd EYE http://www.24x7pc.com/recommendmotherboard.php

CPU: -$178.94- AMD-ATHLON 64 3200 (939 Pin) http://www.smksuperstore.com/catalog/viewitem.asp?ID=13295

Graphics Card: -$178- XFX GeForce 6600 GT 128MB http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=M&Product_Code=190439

Hard Drive: -$126.94- Hitachi 250GB SATA http://24x7pc.com/recommendstorage.php

DVD Burner: -$54.75- SONY 16X DVD±RW DOUBLE LAYER http://www.buyxg.com/store/item.asp?key=CD-124-110

RAM: 2x -$144.00- 512MBDDR(2pcs 256) PC-4000(500) OCZGold http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=M&Product_Code=140511

Case: - $193- Lian-Li PC 6070A Aluminum Ultra Quiet http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=M&Product_Code=100634

PSU: -$79- OCZ ModStream 450W Power Supply http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=M&Product_Code=100176

Total: $1233.58
I have no clue as to what water cooling system to get, so I will need some help with that department. I also found some savings bonds that are ready to be cashed in, so now I can spend about $1300-$1400. I got all of those prices and sites off of pricewatch.com, which I think is a great site for finding good deals.

I would suggest a Thermaltake Bigwater for watercooling.

Your system is looking pretty sick, all your parts are looking pretty nice. I would suggest adding another DVD drive, one that only reads, as I often find I need to move things from one disc to another etc.

You can always consider getting two drives and putting a RAID 0 setup together for some sweet load times, I would suggest two 36GB WD raptor drives. You can even add a larger IDE drive if you want for storing data that doesn't need fast access times.

Additional heatsinks and fans on things like memory, GPU etc. are also a good idea if extreme overclocking is in mind.
