Question building a low-end gaming comp

i would like some advice on what to look for. im shooting for the $500-600 range if it is possible

Get an Athlon 64 3000+ Socket 754, cheap socket 754 mobo, Radeon 9600XT graphics card....and you pick the rest of the parts.

go for 939 easier to upgrade in the future
get 3000+
80gig sata
512 ram
eVGA 6600
abit mobo w/e
case w/e
psu w/e

get a better gfx card than that and also you may want to think about a single 512 stick for easier adding of ram

take out the monitor (im pretty sure he doesnt need one) and upgrade to a gig of ram
