i already bought and opened the dvd+/-rw (the dual layer kind :D ), 200GB hd, and the LG monitor

this comp should be a perfomance machine, able to play games quickly and easily . . . i play a lot of flight sims (x-plane) and of course CS, etc. i also do photoshop and movie editing and burning

thanks for all the help in advance

The 9200 is allright for todays games but if you want this system to last a couple years I would ungrade to ATLEAST a 9600xt.

Most importantly, you want at least the Radeon 9600XT for your gfx card. The 9200 just won't cut it for the graphics-intensive games comming this year. Also, get an AMD64 processor, which is much better for gaming. The Athlon 64 3200+ isn't very expensive and is a very high-performance processor for the money.

nah, ive had some bad experiences with amd, especially athlon . . .

the regular version that is . . .

on the other hand, our home computer is a 2.8ghz HT 512kb cache, which runs really really great . . . the only problem - my parents offered to put it in my room, but its an HP which makes a TON of noise

also, im wondering if this will be a quieter solution ( i know that it wont be the quietest at all ) noise is a big factor, cause i get migraines from loud, high-pitched noise

It depends on the power supply, how loud it is (that's it most of the time). Just keep the fans free of dust, and if it's too loud get a new power supply. But b4 you do that, make sure it's the power supply.

dont get this pc. DONT. wait until some better prescotts come out, then buy a northwood at 3 ghz (3.0c) the prescott sucks, and you will get much better performance from a northwood. youll also save a ton of money if you wait

yeah I agree with knuckle50, you should wait a little while, because I am sure that you would like to save some more money and get a little bit better performance

yeah i guess i'll do that. . .

although i don't want to wait TOO long. . . im still planning the system and want to have it completely done by september, cause once school starts, i won't have any time until november during thanksgiving break
