Build for parents, help

My parents old vaio is not getting the job done and i told them i could build them a nice computer on a budget of $500. They seemed open to the idea so i thought i would put some things together and see if it all adds up. I think I have everything but I am not sure. And i need help picking out a low end video card. Is all of this compatible? Thanks. Oh, And the computer will only be mostly used for e-mail and internet but every once in a while probably some counter-strike 1.6. 60fps is fine.

This is already $513 and I wanted to get a cheap video card? Can anyone recommend a very cheap one, about $40-$50? 512mb Ram? Do i need a sound card? Should i get a less powerful processor? How can i make this $500? Is this all compatible? All suggestions and comments are appreciated!

you will only need 512 of ram get a different mobo tho asus arent too reliable and are generally crap. look into a cheap abit or gigabyte mobo you dont need the sound cuz as onboard is just fine for the video card look into either an mx440 or a fx5200 both these cards should work pretty well for what you need. thats about also do you have a hard for it? i didnt see one get a 40gig for like 35 bucks and that should do ya if i forgot anything let me know

Alright Thanks, i knew i forgot something, HD. Ok onboard sounds good and so does the 512, maybe now i can get this down to $500. Anyone else have suggestions?

Get a Sempron CPU. Anything above 600 MHz will run CS 1.6 just fine.

Yeah onboard sound will be fine for them, you can also ditch a stick of ram and get slightly cheaepr ram.

For a cheap video card that will play 1.6, even an mx440 is fine for that.

60fps? It can basicly max out the origional CS. So yes, it's better than a mx440 by far.

I suggest getting a seperate PSU. Chances are if you use that PSU a capacitor will explode or something will happen. Believe me, it happened to me like 5 months ago. And when that happens, you risk:

Fire
Outrageous Voltage going through your motherboard and chipsets(bad news)
Pretty much a dead and gone system.

dude that psu will power his system great its an antec 350watt and is comparable to 450w no name psu's
