all rite, guys, im thinking of building a new PC, i have most of the parts down, just need ur opinion on the system, any suggestions welcome

Here it is:

MGE XG Titanium Black ATX Case $122.00
Enermax Noisetaker 600W PSU $158.00
Asus A8N-SLI Premium Motherboard $174.99
AMD X2 4800+ Processor $886.00
Thermaltake Tower 112 Copper Heatsink $50.99
Mushkin 2GB PC3200 High Performance Memory $264.99
Maxtor DiamondMax 10 300GB S-ATA Hard Drive $139.99
BenQ Black DW1640 16X Dual Layer DVD±RW $47.75
Sony 1.44” Floppy Disk Drive $15.99
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS $83.99
XFX GeForce 7800GTX 256MB DDR3 Video Card $499.99
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition $89.99
Samsung 204T Syncmaster 20” LCD $579.99
Logitech Cordless Desktop MX3100 $85.00
Klipsch Promedia 2.1 Speakers $139.99

It comes out to about $3300 (free shipping from zipzoomfly), thats basically the highest i can go. not sure if should go with the 4800+ or the 4400+ (i want to stick with the X2 line for the future), i will add another GTX down the road for SLI, and should i get the DFI mobo instead

and how big is the difference between 1600*1200 vs 1280*1024, cuz i was thinking of maybe going for the VX924 instead of the 20 inch

i plan on using this for gaming as well as content creation, im gonna OC a little bit but not too much (maybe around a 300Mhz jump) and some minor RAM OCing

-I wish I could go 1600x1200, so if you can great.

-You probably want a DFi Lanparty Ultra instead

-You should get Xp Pro insted of Home

-You should add another hardrive to that setup. For backups or for splitting storage/system.

-Im not sure about dual cores vs single cores for gaming puposes....

-Hows that heatsink vs a zalman 7700??

heatsink's about the same as the 7700, i dont plan on Ocing too much so i was thinking of the Asus instead of the lanparty, and i can always oc the 4800+ to have dual Fx-55s or better

sure get a dfi.
alright u might want this monitor for hard core gaming
