Default Broken Netbook

Hey guys so I have a MSI L1600 Netbook with a faulty screen that im looking to mod into something cool. Any suggestions? Don`t want to have put a whole lot of money into it either (around $50 max) willing to up the budget depending on suggestions.

Remove the screen. Get a VGA to RCA or HDMI adapter and plug it into a TV?
