I want to overclock my intel P4 3.0E CPU but in the BIOS it doesnt allow me to change any settings because they're all grey and unavailable for selection. I get a brief message at bootup saying .........BIOS not installed. I try to upgrade using the ASUS update utility but never any luck. For anyone who has an ASUS p4p800-E Deluxe mobo, help me out please. I'm using the BIOS that comes originally with the mobo and I wanna know if I can upgrade to allow myself to overclock.

Did you build this computer?

You can do a BIOS flash it may Unlock the settings.
You would go to the ASUS website and look up BIOS flash for that make and model.

However I would first trying Clearing the CMOS.

Find the Watch like battery on the motherboard, and while the computer is OFF, remove it for 3-5 minutes, then put it back in, then see if you can't change any settings.

Flash or update the bios. That should help.
