Default Benchmark for 7900GS?

Does 16,250 sound about right in 3DMark03 with an Athlon 3200 64-bit on an nForce4 board? My old score was 7,200 with a 6800XT and an Athlon 1800 proc, so I’m pretty happy.

I haven’t tried over-clocking the card yet, because my CPU is probably the one holding things back. How much benefit do you think I’d see if I o/c’d the CPU from 2.1 GHz up to around 2.4? I haven’t really done any tweaking before.

none, 3dmark mostly test the gpu. im not sure about 03 but on 3dmark05 i got 9,000 and change with that card.

my system in my sig stock i got a 12,000 with 3dmark05, i oced it from 2.4 to 3.3 and i got only a couple hundred more added to my score. when i oced my current card i can get into the 14-15,000 range so thats were you want to oc for 3dmark.

Ok, that’s kind of what I thought. Some people told me that my CPU would bottleneck the 7900GS, so I thought if I over-clocked the CPU it would allow the card to perform better.

What's the best program to use to O/C the 7900GS?

ATITool is what i use for overclocking my card too . i think stock 7900GS card score in the vicinity of 15-17k (3DMark03) depending on the model. mine hits in the range of 21k.

As much as people like to say that CPU's bottleneck cards, it's usually not by a lot if they do. An Athlon 64 won't bottleneck a 7900GS much at all. i get 23.7K in 03, 9800 in 05 and 6805 in 06 with my C2D @3.15ghz and my 7900GS at 615/835.

The reason I have such higher scores is becuase I overclocked my card by so much, the Core 2 helps but not nearly as much overclocking did.
