My current case is both ATX and BTX compatible and I'm thinking about mounting my motherboard in a BTX fashion with the RAM and CPU towards the bottom of the case and the PCI/PCI-E slots towards the top.

The advantages I can see to this is having enough room to mount 2*120mm fans blowing over the RAM instead of just one 80mm, and my RAM and CPU are positioned in a sort of "wind tunnel" array parallel to my front intake and rear exhaust fan. In addition they'll be located at the bottom of the case where it'll be coolest and the hot air will just rise away from them.

The disadvantages to this I see are having my GPU getting excess heat as well as my cards possibly intefering with the airflow of my bottom mounted heatercore intake and top mounted exhaust.

Thoughts?
