Hi,

I tried to unlock my Athlon XP with silver laquer.
Unfortunately it didn't work quite well. My multiplier dropped from 10.5x (default) to 5.5x and depending on wich multiplier setting I configure in my BIOS it is sometimes at 5.0 or 6.5 (CPU-Z readings), even though I configured a different value in my BIOS. Most multiplier values result in a non-booting system.

How do I properly measure the resistance of the bridges using a multimeter and wich values should I get?

I searched google but I still don't get it.

Just put the points on the multimeter on the two cpu pin's

Hopefully, yours does autorange

Well. I googled some more and I know the resistance has to be below 1 Ohm. My values were below 1 Ohm but I wasn't sure what points to measure. I don't know what pins you mean either, Chris.
Anyways, I removed the silver laquer and it's back at it's default multiplier (10.5x) I will maybe try to unlock it again friday, but the contacts are worn off due to my several unlocking attemps, so I don't know if it will work.

I think I'll just get a new CPU if I don't manage to unlock it friday. I need a new CPU anyways, so I can use this CPU for my old motherboard.
