Default Athlon 64 CPU temperature

I think i have a little heat problem...

here are my temps..

at idle i get 33C

while im playing far cry i stop to look at temps and its anywhere between 47 and 50C

is this a normal temperature jump?

is it gonna hurt my cpu?

I have artic silver 5 on it.. at first i put alot on it.

then i read on here and took some off so that its a thin layer.. also.. i got a little bit on the socket where the cpu goes.. but it stilll works fine.. is this gonna effect my computer in any way?
my computer specs are in my signature.

what about getting thermal paste on the socket? is that gonna hurt it?? it was just a little bit smeared on the top... lol.. that sticks all over the place... i hate how messy it is..

I have the same CPU I havent overclocked it but it reaches around 47 after hours of use for Farcry, its pretty normal but I will probably get a better CPU heatsink/fan

those are good temps for air cooling....I run at 40c idle and up to 50C stressed...that is norm for my p4
