Alrighty. My Athlon 64 3800 Newcastle is running at 19 degrees idle. I am using stock cooling, in a full sized steel case (aerocool) with pc wizard 2005. And it isnt overclocked at all

lol u might have a temp problem if its reading that cos thats really low for stock (eg my stock temps are 26 idle and that is generally quite low) but do u have stock cooling or som thing better

Where have you gotten this readout from? 19C is perfectly acceptable but considering my stock temperatures on water on a 3200+ didn't idle below 25C, you are having some temperature probe problems.

ok using pc wizard 05 it says

processor temp 18 degrees
mainboard temp 48 degrees( is this kinda high? it seems like it)
power/aux temp 33 degrees
hard disk temp 30 degrees

Use the BIOS to check your temperatures. I can tell you now your chipset is not running hotter than your core

If your could provide the ambient room temperature that would be nice. That is a bit high for an Athlon IMO, but it isn't bad. A CPU can operate at temperatures as high as 70C and I wouldn't get too concerned until the load temperatures start hitting 60C.

Even so, the BIOS should have a temperature shutdown override that will probably be set at 70C, meaning if your CPU reaches this temperature, the computer will be shut down for safety purposes
