To be honest, theres no point in them on even most CRTs nowadays, but, I would be safe and leave one on, because i'm sure it cant be ood leaving it on one image for that long!

I don't use one, but I turn my monitor off when I'm not using it.

I just have the monitor shut off after 5 min.

Why waste power and the LCD's life if you don't have to?

LCD's have a backlight that can burn out after so long. Leaving it on is just a waste.

If i do leave it, its for maybe an hour at the most, its just i figured like most electrical things, if you kept turning them on and off thats just as bad if not worse than leaving it on? correct me if im wrong.

Not in all cases.

That usually just applies to motherboards/CPU's, since the heat they produce will cause the components to expand and shrink, which will eventually cause damage. If it's on constantly, it will maintain temperature and not expand/shrink.

I doubt this applies to monitors.

well i assume you are asking about the old problem of "image staining". the answer is no TFT's do not have this issue.
