exactly, I think a nice power supply could run your computer and 8 fans. Mine runs 4 80mm, 1 92mm, and a 120mm without a hickup so theres really no reason why you'd want an alternate power source IMO

when i say server case I mean a 19 Inch rackmount server c(29X38X56 enclosure, I wanted to just use a 65watt PWS or something that has almost no pull drain, and Solder wires to the on/off prtion to make a plunger switch to force it to turn on, but couldn't manage to find one.

'Or actually, When Power supplies are running , do they Pull only as much as needed, Or do they pull their max load?

8 fans don't pull that much power if you daisy chain them. If you really want you could hook em' all up and plug em' into the wall.

they only pull as much as is drawn from the components attached to them.

if you dasy chain them? why would that make them pull less power? does that mean that they are running at a lower speed?

*sigh* I was really hoping one of you would give him this, so I didn't have to be the one to look like a tool....

http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/produc...0099/w0099.asp

That being said most fans don't use half an amp, keeping that in mind lets just say you have 8 fans that use .5 each. Now watts=amps*volts, sooo .5 * 12 = 6 watts, 6 * 8 = 48 watts..... soooo if your psu can't handle that magic 50 watts, then you got way bigger problems then cooling buddy.

Tornado has .72amp spec so .72 * 12 * 8 = 69.12 watts. Thats at full power and not many people could stand the noise of 8 running at full power.

And for the question in your last post,

Couldn't you wire up a potentiometer to the chain, so that you could like slow all of them down with one knob? That would be teh coolz.

I had a bunch of old crappy guitar potentiometers, and I wired them up to my case fans. It works awesome.
