Is it really true that 1 of the FX would outperform 2 on that board? (if you don't mind me asking, can you try one, and then put in the 2nd one and tell if theres a difference?)

definitely can do

i don't know how true that is though... because in multithreaded apps i've seen on other reviews that it comes close to neck and neck w/ q6600

but then again, i havent seen a single fx70 ran yet...

you bring up a good question i will definitely find you the answer

and 3dmark06 being a very heavy cpu bench is a great choice to find out with
