it says you have onbaord video.
I think, with that money, you should at least buy a new video card to put in it. make sure it has an AGP slot.

onboard video uses the main CPU, and some of your RAM. that means, not only is the video card not very good, but it slows the system down too.

the 6600 GT can be had for $150

then save up for a new motherboard, CPU and maybe RAM.
2.4 will do for now, but it's not particularly great.

Thanks for your response. I bought a ECS nForce4-A939 with the 512k Athlon 64 (not sure if it's winchester or not), 512 ram, etc. Going to have to purchase the 6600 GT PCI later. It's obviously not great, but I'm sure I'll see at least a 2x-3x improvement from what I'm using now
