Default amd athlon xp 2500+?

Can you overclock an amd athlon xp 2500+ and if so how far?

Its not my computer its actually my moms.

Yea you can but you can't tell how far, each CPU is different.

In my experience it is hard to overclock them without serious cooling improvement. They run hot compared to more recent cpu's. I put a nexus heatsink on my XP2800+ back in the day and it would still not overclock much... but as reggie says... every CPU is different.

of course you can overclock it if the motherboard will support it. overclocking has been possible back at least as far as the original Pentium. the best you could get would probably be about the speed of a 3200+
