AMD 64 system

For my next system should I get an Athlon 64 3800+ or an Athlon fx-53? What is the difference between these two processors?They have the same clock speed.

The FX has a higher memory bandwidth and requires registered memory - which costs a lot more.

The 3800 uses a different socket, which will give you more upgrade and motherboard options. The FX also costs a lot more. I would go with the 3800 over the FX.
