agp fequency question

ok i know that theres 4x agp and 8x and that it runs at 66mhz default but some dude on fear told me that its 66mhz times 8x is this true? and and 528mhz is the agp resulting freq. or if its 4x agp its that mhz times 4x. is this true?

the agp freq, is 66-99 Mhz, i do not know if that multiplies with the bus speed acording to if it is 4x or 8x, i think that refrences to something else.
