Default 9800xt

Would it be possible to mod/overclock a 9800XT to near or equal to X800 speeds?

sure you can, I havent tested this out yet, but I got this site from a thread on here I wish that I could remember so I could give credit to that person

Well you probably cant get it to x800 speeds, but you get extra options that help you optimize/OC and etc...

ok.. the 9800xt runs very very hot, it's possible to overclock it.. duh.. but regardless of the drivers, you're not going to have the same architecture of the gpu. The card runs differently, cooler, and faster along with.. ddr3 i believe.. so again, no you cannot.

I am aware the the performance wouldnt be the same and that its a differnt chip in the x800, but what i asked was "can i overclock it to speeds near an x800", so if it runs hot, thats all i need to know, the answeres obviouly no. Thats all i need to know, thanks

9800xt is crap
save a ton of money and get a 9800pro or shell out the extra $$$ for the x800xt

when $$$ is factored in it is

the X800 can be had for 450-500

the 9800xt can be had for 400-450

sorry but the 30% or more power the X800 has over the 9800 is worth the extra 0-100 bucks
