Default 8x to 16x

Is there anyway to convert a 8x PCI Express slot to run at 16x so that you can run a SLI configuration? I have the Nforce 4 SLI motherboard from evga. I have heard rumours that this could be done from BIOS, but I have no idea how.

There is such a small gain from 4x to 8x, so it is going to be the same for PCIE if there is any gain. You need a mobo that supports 2x 16x slots.
