I hope 750MHZ is easily attainable on 88000 GT's
You are totally wrong about that

The shader speed of 8800GT is 1.5GHz at stock

The shader speed of 8800GTS is 1.2GHz at stock

The speed of shader in G80 and G92 video card are different than the speed of Texture units and Render Output unit, while in ATI HD video card they all run at the same speed.

The clock speeds that you are talking about are the speed of Texture units and Render Output unit, not the speed of shaders

As far as OC'ing goes, i was only able to get mine to run 700mhz core and 1030mhz memory. Anything past that and i started getting artifacts. So im guessing this is why evga is seling the SSC at 700/1000 because anything past that and the card gets unstable.

I just put two of these in SLI and messed around this weekend. I increased my FPS in Crysis by about 10-15 (averaged 30-40 on medium settings, 1280x768, 2xAA) and kept FPS at about 20-30 with high settings and 1280x768, 4xAA. Also 3dMark06 scores were much better than w/ my two GTSes (13996 vs. 11325). All speeds are stock...well factory clocks

FWIW, the crysis demo doesnt support SLI. I got a little over 14k in 3dmark06 with a single card, and broke 18k in sli. But apparently the cards that came from fry's are superclocked versions that run 650/950

Since you've been out of the game for awhile here's an update for you. The 8800GT is a 65nm revision with 112 shaders compared to the GTS 96 and GTX 128.

Since it's 65nm it runs cooler and comes clocked higher....only downside is that it comes with a 256bit memory interface with either 256m or 512mb. This is compared to the GTS 320bit interface with 320mb/640mb and the GTX 384 bit interface with 768mb.

Important bits to answer your question:
Fortunately, the 256bit memory interface doesn't seem to hamper performance and the 8800GT significantly outperforms the 8800GTS. It is only right behind the GTX in terms of performance and with overclocking can certainly FAR outperform a stock GTX (no surprise really)

There will also be a rev. 2 8800GTS coming out based on the G92 65nm core (from the 8800GT)...it will be basically idential to an 8800GT but will sport the 320bit memory interface from the previous generation 8800GTS. It is also said to be clocked much higher and is rumoured to outperform the current 8800GTX.

Yes they will also be coming out with a rev. 2 8800GTX. Confusing as he11, I know. no idea how i just typed that all out.

and 1440 x 900
i have the exact same card as you nagasama, we'll see who wins
but then again you have experience
