8800gt Mods

Anyone heard of modding a stock C2D heatsink on a 8800GT? Someone should try and make a tutorial for me lol

I could see that being done pretty easily, just remember you have to put heatsinks on your ram modules.

I could try it...... but let me wait till I have a back up card first. (4850/4870/idk)

Not if you use zip ties to mount it. lol

You wouldn't get good contact with the core than and your temps would suffer for it.

The key to good heat transfer is to minimize the amount of material between the two surfaces.

Therefore the greater the pressure the more the TIM between the core and hsf is squished and the thinner it becomes. Resulting in better heat transfer.

The accellero s1 is only like 30 bucks. Thats pretty much not expensive.
