I am on a tight budget and was wondering if you could help me out with a $550 computer build. I will be playing games on it, but don't need a really high tech vid card, because I will be OCing hopefully. I have a build so far and was wondering if it is good enough. It's 552.45 including shipping. By the way, I'm not afraid to purchase refurbished stuff of newegg, if it's faulty I can always send it back.

I'll just be using stock-cooling for now but once I have a few more dollars I'll get a few more fans. I'm not looking for a good upgradeable computer because this is my first build, and I have no job so I'll probably be doing a new build in a year or so. Not to mention, I'll be OCing everything possible, including RAM, CPU, MOBO, and VID card. Thanks in advance.

I don't know what you were trying to show me with that link but it just took me to a bunch of wish lists. Is there one you are trying to point out?

Oh, maybe the link on'y works for me

That's a good setup but there is one problem, maybe it's just me but I didn't see RAM. That price would be one I'm willing to spend but there is no memory. And that will bump it up to around 600$ without shipping. Can't afford that setup.

Bah! I forgot RAM lol

Yeah, so you would be just a bit over your budget with the RAM. If there is any way though you could scrounge up a few more bucks, that build would seriously rock. If not, you could also go down to this video card:

This card is just about on par with that 5700Ultra you posted, but is quite a bit cheaper. That would more than make up for the price of the RAM and you would still have a nice A-64 setup.

But as I said, if you can get a few more bucks, that 6600GT really rocks!

Need people's input. Should I get the setup I previously picked out, or should I switch my vid card for the one posted above for 35$ cheaper and upgrade my processor to a Venice?

As for psu, if you have a decent one in your case, you don't need, but if not:

ASPIRE ATX-AS520W BLACK ATX 520W Power Supply-55
either one will do $705-707
