This sounds like the 4850 is easily one of the best cards to buy ATM no?

The small performance increase should warrant the 100 extra bucks :P

With the 4870 hovering around $200 as of right now. Soon the 4850 won't be the go to card anymore.

this is true....

Once the RV775pro and XT cards are out prices will drop even more.

If thats just 1 card then thats very impressive. Even if its 2 not a bad score for the 4850. As for the crysis bench, its not really that great IMO. I got 25.21avg/fps with a 768mb 9600 GSO. The card was Oc'd to 760/1080/1600. With no voltage increase required.

But Im building a crossfire rig just wanted to know if the 4870 was worth the extra $200 (2 cards).

Then those are some pretty nice 3dmark scores. But......
Since 3dm06 is so heavily CPU based the score doesnt really tell you much. Hence my crysis FPS score is only off by 1.6 fps. But then again his rig is a 4.6 with pcie 2.0 slots and mines only a 2.8 with pcie 1.0 slots.
