Never skimp on the power supply, You're going to need around 550W to power this card or something with a lot of Amps on the +12v rails.

I'm running mine with 2x 6-Pins and it runs perfectly. The extra two pins serve as grounds anyway and don't carry an extra current, thus allowing this paper clip mod to work.

Would Corsair VX550W be a good choice? its kinda cheap and fits in the " High to Medium End Gaming or workstation PC's" according to the guide!

definitely... in fact a corsair 520 is more than enough... even if you overclock
