Why buy a 7600gt for a little under $200 when for a little more you could have a 7800gt which is much better?

Why sped a little more for a 7800GT when spending the same amount of money you can get a 7900GT which is much better?

I was thinking about using 2x 1GB, and 2x 256MB, should be nice performance right?

From what i've heard anything over 2gb wil actually slow your system down, but im not sure about 2.5gb?

i would sell my PSU, and video card and get a 7900GT, and a fortron source 450w psu with 36a on the 12v rails it should run the 7900GT just fine.

Sell or keep the 256mb ram for another computer and just use 2*1gb dual channel and it will give you a performance boost
