Dual Xeon PC - Choosing a Video Card

This is my first post, and although I've worked with PCs my whole life I'm somewhat new to the modifying scene. I'm currently running an 'old' workstation with the following specs:

XP Pro
Dual Xeon 2.66 ghz processors
2gb ram
ATI FireGL T2 Video Card
80 gb hard drive

I've used this computer for the last couple years at work. I do a lot of graphics and 3D Cad rendering, etc. and it works great for that purpose.

The reason I'm looking to upgrade the video card is because I plan on using it for some gaming at home. How will this PC perform as a gaming computer as it is?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

if your on a budget 7600gt maybe 7900gt

if you have more money to spend 8800gts is great

also look on ebay you can find 7900gtx's for around 300 bucks
