For the last month, I have found at least 12 computers that just restart while booting at the windows screen.

All computers are using a Windows XP version (Home or Pro)

All computers pass the bios boot

the windows logo boot start up screen starts then goes back to the bios boot up.

Why?

Windows recovery, no prevail!

Windows Repair, no prevail, and on half of the machines windows repair does not exist.

plus one more feature I have seen, is that on a few, the "C" drive is "unkown".

Any help would be nice.

Tex Nolan, your signature is too big. Better resize it before the moderators take away your signature priviledges. Remove the picture or resize it.

I'll remove it, thanks for the warning.

As for the specs, all machines are different going from pent 1 to a 4 and AMD's along with this. I have spoke with several other repair shop's and they are stumped too. When asking MS they just say reinstall and this will be fixed. However we are talking about people that would not know about backing up or how to put there favorites back. The first couple was nice, but alot time in doing so many.

This will help you:

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Startup and Recovery Settings -> Uncheck "Automatically Restart".

Repeat as necessary.
